BBC Worldwide moved into a new HQ last year that was previously the Stage 6 studio of BBC Television centre. The renovated building, designed by HOK now offers a more open working environment highlighted with a new central atrium that is in the place of the previous lift shafts.
The atrium now brings a new focal point to building with it bringing natural light centrally into the building and also housing a unique and pragmatic staircase.
The building now houses 850+ workspaces too and a survey was required for a current audit and also future space planning.
Cadplan’s surveyors worked around the main working hours of the BBC Worldwide staff and were on site for 5 evenings. The surveyors used the Faro 120 3D laser scanner to compile the 3 point cloud for the CAD Technicians to work from.
